Welcome to Ash class
Class teacher: Miss Philpott
Teaching Assistant: Miss Humphreys & Ms Johns

Ash class is a mixed year 1 and year 2 class, with Miss Philpott (Class teacher), and Miss Humphreys and Ms Johns as Teaching Assistants.

This year we have taken a new approach to our learning in Key Stage 1 and will be continuing with 'Continuous Provision', which we call our Investigation Time. This means that when children are not working with an adult, they will be set challenges to achieve across the week and have increased opportunities for learning through play. This is a very effective model and method of teaching which allows the children to develop their social skills, and speaking and listening skills, as well as their academics for the foundation curriculum such as geography and history. We teach Maths and Writing in the mornings in small, adult led groups to ensure every child gets first quality teaching with adults.

Autumn Term:

We are whizzing around becoming superheroes!  Watch out Villains - here come Ash Class! After half term, we will be looking at different festivals and celebrations such as Bonfire Night and Christmas!

We are very lucky this term to be doing Forest School! We have this on Monday afternoons so make sure you bring your kits! (Warm clothes, coats, wellies, gloves, scarves, hats etc.!)

Things to remember:

Monday - Forest School

Wednesday - Homework due

Thursday - PE

Friday - New Homework set

Please bring book bags and water bottles every day - including your child's reading book and record! Also please make sure your child's clothes (uniform and PE kit - especially jumpers!) are named!
